Report From Uganda Catholic School JOSEPH KAGGWA PRIMARY AND NURSERY SCHOOL
VillageofNakaseeta
Our parish school has been very active the past seven years in raising money to support a rural Catholic school in Uganda. Also, many parishioners not a part of the school have contributed to our UGANDA FUND.
In 2022 we reported how between parishioners and our school we raised $24,572 and gave $23,566 to this school for the purpose of construction of additional classrooms plus providing tables, desks and chairs along with other school supplies. To view this complete 2022 report please visit our website (see Uganda Fund). The school is in a village where there were no schools previously.
Father Paul is a classmate of Father Spencer who with great love ministered here for four years. Both are graduates of St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, CA, serving the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Fr. Paul returned home to serve his diocese in Uganda and serves at a parish and as a chaplain to 17 Catholic schools in the region of his parish assignment. He is ordained for the Diocese of Kiyinda-Mityana. Fr. Paul has visited our parish three times to report on the progress of the above school, which hopes to expand and offer dorms for students who must travel from villages too far away, villages without a school.
The most crucial project now is water. They have no water except a pond some distance away also used by domestic and wild animals. During Fr. Paul’s last visit to us, he asked for support for a well project. A professional team will dig the well and build a 5000 liter (1320 gallon) elevated tank to provide running water for the school. Energy for the well pumps will be solar power.
I am grateful to the people of this wonderful parish and to the children, families and faculty of our awesome parish school who have continued to raise money for our UGANDA FUND. We currently have $16,916 in the fund and can easily give this school $13,215.20 for the well plus an additional $1,000.00 for maintenance of the well.
A PDF of the full bid is available on our this page (see Uganda Fund 2025.pdf) below.
THANK YOU to the wonderful people of this parish and to the best schoolchildren in the world (ours and those at Fr. Paul’s school) for their generosity and love, for outstanding Christian witness. Thank you from my heart and soul.
